Product Description

This new publication brings together five artist's commissions with writing by five authors, as part of 'anywhere in the universe', our 2023 project addressing the present, past and future of the public library.

Artists Rabiya Choudhry, Kate Davis, Sean Edwards, Onyeka Igwe and Yuri Pattison presented their work in ten public libraries in Glasgow during 2023. Their work was accompanied by the writing of five authors: Claire-Louise Bennett, Aurelia Guo, Charlotte Higgins, Lola Olufemi, and Chitra Ramaswamy.

In this publication, the artist’s work is presented alongside the writer’s text, as they appeared in each of the libraries. They are prefaced with an essay by The Common Guild’s curator, Chloe Reith.

The publication is designed by Tom Joyes and printed in an edition of 500 by KOPA.
