Product Description

Airmid's Journal is a biannual journal of Irish foraging, folklore, myth, magic, and remedies. Each issue is intended to be an ever-growing tapestry of stories, woven together with the plants of this land. Old stories, new stories, personal tales, and present spells.

In This Issue:

“Teanga is not just a tool for communication; it is a way of seeing, a way of knowing, a way of being in the world. Teangacha don’t just hold words, they carry instructions of traditional ecological knowledge, honed over generations; ways of being in relationship with the land that understand it to be kin, not resource. They remind us that there are other ways to be, to organise and to relate to one another and to the land”

‘When we speak a word, we plant a seed. When we learn a phrase, we weave another thread back into that cloak. When we greet caisearbhán emerging from the frozen earth, or a new born baby fresh into this world, we whisper;

Fáilte. Tá muid anseo go fóill. Beidh muid anseo go deo. Ní bheidh muid inár dtost’.

With contributions from; Aoife de Bhál ‘Beann Mhadagáin’, Ola Majekodunmi ‘Glow’ & ‘Lost’, An Dream Dearg, Rónán Ó Raghallaigh ‘Tá Mé Gul Awailí’, Leasha Hogan ‘Teanga na Plandaí’, Cré; Aoife Hammond & Steve Finnerty Amhráin agus Foinn’, Johan Sandberg McGuinne ‘I Long to Kiss Your Scarred Lips With a Decolonised Tongue’, Gráinne Holland ‘Cúr Rua’, Amano Miura Tongue (Shita), Catriona Ní Ghribín ‘An Rún’ & ‘Gailtín Tí Móir’, Lucy O’Hagan‘Ag Déanamh Cnuasaigh Sleabhac’ & ‘Ar lorg na Teanga’  with Denise Conroy, Denise Conroy ‘An Bhfuil Gaeilge Agaibh & Cailb’
